Teamwork and Friendship

Everyone can benefit from this post, no matter what age you are.  This is dedicated to friendships. The friends that you’ve had since you were in diapers, the friends you’ve lost along the way, and the friends that will be by your side no matter what, they all shape your life in one way or another.  In college, I developed a list of things to live by, and this was one of my most important:

Put friends first.  In the end, they will be there for you if you have been there for them.

We should try to remind ourselves of those words every single day.  Being a trustworthy, good friend is one of the best qualities in a person.  It is also very important to remember that your life is directly affected by the people you surround yourself with.  If you hang out with people who have low moral values, that is what your life could become. Look at the people around you, and ask yourself, “Are these the kind of people that I aspire to be like?  Are these the kind of people that bring out the best in me?” If you start to realize that your friends don’t hold the same values that you want in your life, then it might be time to make new friendships.

For me personally, my greatest friendships are the ones that make me want to be a better person.  Good friends have the best qualities. They are strong and tough. They are kind and loving. They are confident and fun.  They are honest and respectful. We should thank God every day for our friendships, because they are constantly teaching us such important things, and they are constantly making me better.  On top of all that, they make us happy!

We all have different kinds of friendships, and it is hard to tell which ones we will keep for the rest of our lives.  In the meantime, value your good friends. Treat them as you want to be treated. The rest will fall into place.

Keep counting it out...
